<p>A healthy eating doesn’t have to mean no snacking or that we have to resort to the carrots and celery snacks only. One of the major proble<span id="more-219"></span>ms with our healthy eating is that the food we eat is a tasty combination of saturated fats and highly processed and quickly digested carbohydrates.</p>
<p>Therefore, here are some tips that important to be followed for achieving healthy eating:</p>
<p>1. Choose natural foods</p>
<p>Keep your foods still natural. That doesn&#8217;t just mean get your foods as fresh as possible. Organic foods are as close to natural as you can get without simply growing your own food. Natural foods do not include ingredients such as refined flours, refined sugars, hydrogenated oils, milled grains, artificial flavorings, artificial sweeteners, or artificial food colors, whereas refined ingredients will cause diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and cancer.</p>
<p>2. Choose whole grain foods over processed foods</p>
<p>Processed foods go through a thorough process that often takes them away of their original nutrients. Many times, supplementary nutrients are artificially added as an attempt to gain the original nutrition value of the food. Nature does a better job at produce nutrients than man does. Choosing whole wheat flour, noodles and brown rice over their processed counterparts can do a lot in helping you achieve greatest health.</p>
<p>3. Pay attention to vegetable colors</p>
<p>The best way to get all of the health benefits of vegetables is to eat a range of colors. Red, yellow,  and orange choices provide vitamin A, green provide folate, vitamins, and phytochemicals, which are compounds found only in plants that provide great health benefits, such as reducing the risk for cancer and heart disease.</p>
<p>4. Take fresh fruits</p>
<p>Besides excellent source as food, fresh fruits are dished up as medicine, treat ailments, retain and balance the moisture level in the body. When you are on a diet, especially low carb diet, you should avoid high sugar fruits. Sugar is one of the most dangerous substances for the body. So, choose low sugar fruits, it doesn’t mean they have low nutritional value; some of them are the highest.</p>
<p>5. Take less fat foods</p>
<p>If you want the foods with less fat, then you avoid taking deep fried foods. You’d better follow the cooking methods such as steaming, broiling, roasting and grilling. Also, you should avoid taking fast foods and other low nutrient snacks, like candy and chips. You can eat the healthy snacks such as peanut butter, yogurt, and celery or whole grain crackers and cheese. No need to completely stop eating snacks and fast foods; you can take them as once in a while foods. </p>
<p>6. Read the label that lists the ingredients</p>
<p>It’s a very easy and effective way to promptly assess the nutritional value of a food item. Ironically, many of us are not pass to do it on a standard basis. Be careful about eating foods that contain a lot of preservative chemicals that you cannot pronounce, it probably isn&#8217;t good for you.</p>
<p>7. Limit your sugar intake</p>
<p>Everyone knows that excessive amounts of junk food can cause extra weight and tooth decay. However, carbohydrates, such as potatoes and bread, are also converted to sugar by your body. Many vegetables and fruits, such as carrots and bananas, also contain high amounts of sugar. Excess sugar in your body can lead to problems, such as yeast infection, constipation, fatigue, or impotence.</p>

<p> If you talk to the average person about dieting, they’ll usually assume it’s about deprivation and misery. It may be difficult to reign in some of your nasty habits at first, but it doesn’t have to be a miserable experience in the long run. And you certainly don’t have to deprive yourself of good tasting, satisfying foods. It’s just a matter of a few simple substitutions, and you will be well on your way to weighing less.</p>
<p><span id="more-202"></span></p>
<p>The following are 10 food substitutions that will save you thousands of calories over the course of a year, and not be bland or boring in the process.</p>
<p>1. Instead of chocolate, try carob. Chocolate is first on the list because it’s first on most people’s list of guilty pleasures. I’m not here to tell you to do away with anything forever. Moderation is key to lasting health.</p>
<p>In fact, dark chocolate has gotten good press in recent years for having potent antioxidants that fight free radicals, destructive molecules that are connected to heart disease and other ailments. But if you like to do more than dabble in chocolate’s decadent sweetness, try to substitute the little known carob, a Mediterranean tree that produces pea-like pods that produce the sweet concoction.</p>
<p>It’s not that carob is superior nutritiously, but it has a couple things going for it: Carob has 51 calories per ounce to cocoa powders</p>
<p>98. But even more significant is that carob is naturally sweeter than (or, perhaps more accurately, not as bitter as) chocolate, so you don’t have to use as much sugar with it in recipes.</p>
<p>2. Instead of white bread, switch to whole wheat. I grew up on white bread, but have spent most of my adult life exclusively buying whole wheat. Once you go whole wheat, you wonder how Wonder Bread ever tasted like bread to you. Since it’s whole grain it has more nuanced and substantive taste. White bread is bleached flour (does that even sound close to healthy?) and is enriched with things like high fructose corn syrup. Whole wheat bread is unprocessed, so your body has to spend energy (calories) digesting it.</p>
<p>Be a wary shopper, because not all wheat breads are created equal.</p>
<p>Manufactures will try to trick you with fancy word plays on wheat. Make sure that the first ingredient is a “whole” grain.</p>
<p>3. Instead of a salad dressing, try vinegar. Salad dressings are a great way to kill a perfectly healthy salad with hundreds of useless calories. Use a balsamic vinegar and it will add nary a calorie to your salad.</p>
<p>4. Drop the dip and use salsa. Tomatoes, cilantro, onions, maybe garlic… have you heard anything that sounds unhealthy? Then I think you know why salsa is a much better choice than most chip dips. Chips aren’t exactly a healthy snack, but if you’re going to indulge now and again, the least you can do is cut out the fatty processed creamy dips.</p>
<p>5. of those aforementioned chips, you should try more air-popped popcorn. Do you know anyone who doesn’t like popcorn? Either do I. You’ll also like that a cup of popcorn has about 30 calories compared to 140 calories in an ounce of tortilla chips. And we all know an ounce of chips isn’t going to be where you stop.</p>
<p>6. Bacon… any way you slice it, turkey is better than pork. Bacon is probably the single biggest reason many of us can’t be vegetarians.</p>
<p>It’s a fatty vice that’s hard to quit. Purdue turkey bacon has about 50 calories in 2 slices and 1 gram of saturated fat, where some regular pork versions can have 14 times the saturated fat and more than twice the calories.</p>
<p>7. Turkey burger instead of beef. Turkey shows up again on our list, this time in place of your usual beef burgers. Since there’s less fat, some people may miss the flavor it adds. But even the most stubborn of beef backers can grow to love the lower fat turkey version. Once you put on all your favorite toppings (lettuce, pickle, tomato) the difference is really negligible.</p>
<p>Don’t assume that all ground turkey is leaner than beef. Some are packaged with dark meat and even fat-laden skin. As always, be a smart consumer and read the nutrition labels.</p>
<p>8. Instead of a full-fat creamer, go nonfat. It won’t take long for you to get acclimated to the non-fat version, and if you have a couple coffees a day those calories can really add up.</p>
<p>9. Sack the soda and try sparkling water. I know, you’re thinking… water? But if you spike it with a few twists of lemon or lime it becomes a flavorful drink. Besides saving calories, you also avoid some of the other soda ingredients (sugar, phosphoric acid, potassium benzoate) that may cause long-term health issues.</p>
<p>10. Instead of salt, spice food with herbs. The preference for salt is a learned behavior. Which means you can unlearn it. If you are adventurous in the kitchen, try using garlic, oregano, pepper, sage, tarragon, turmeric, cinnamon, and other herbs and spices. If you want the easy way out, Mrs. Dash comes in all kinds of no-sodium, no-calorie combinations.</p>

<p> It seems like everybody today is looking for healthy, youthful looking skin. When we meet people for the first time one of the first things they notice about us is our skin. Having healthy skin that looks young makes us feel good inside. In this article I would like to share some of my tips for getting healthy skin. </p>
<p>Good skin starts with a good healthy diet. Try to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, eat as many differ colors of fruits <span id="more-260"></span>and vegetables that you can. Doing this will insure that you are getting the most antioxidants in your diet, antioxidants are important to healthy skin because they help fight free radical damage. Its the damage done by free radicals that can cause your skin to wrinkle. If possible eat organic fruits and vegetables as they contain more nutrients.</p>
<p> Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day. Dehydrated skin will age prematurely you must keep your skin hydrated, also water will help flush out all the toxins that build up in your body. Make sure the water you are drinking is pure water, not the stuff that comes out of the tap in most homes.</p>
<p>Reduce your skin&#8217;s exposure to the sun&#8217;s harmful UV rays. Try not to get more than 20 to 30 minutes of direct sun on your skin daily. Always put a good sunblock lotion on your skin before leaving your home this will help keep your skin healthy.</p>
<p>Now lets take a look at what you should put on your skin on a daily basis. Start with a good moisturizer that contains only natural ingredients, this will help keep your skin hydrated. Look for moisturizers that are unscented, perfumes can cause irritation and add no value to your moisturizer. Beware of cheap products as they may contain ingredients that strip away the natural oils that are important to your skin.</p>

<p>Truth: As myths go this one is a doozy. Your hair can not remember nor rec<span id="more-254"></span>ognize what shampoo was used on it last. It’s basically just dead cells. So while this sounds like one of the healthy hair tips how’s it gonna know what kind of shampoo you’re using? But hold on. It is true that people with different hair types need to use shampoos suited to their type of hair. So try focusing on that rather than rotating hair shampoo.</p>
<p>Myth #2: Stress and hair loss are directly connected.</p>
<p>Truth: Fact is we&#8217;re losing hair daily anyhow. Whether we are stressed out or not. On average you losesomewhere between 40 to 130 hairs per day. Maybe a few more might fall out if you&#8217;re stressed. But unless you find yourself pulling your hair out by the roots, it is all going to grow back!</p>
